You Really Like it, Want it or Need it?

Holy Grail

Sometimes we want something that we just can’t live without. It might be a pair of boots with Union Flags on the toes or a rare book on how to fold super-duper paper planes. Whatever it is we’ll often go to great lengths to try and find it. We’ll scour the shelves at every local store we think may have it and we’ll call our friends in other parts of the country to keep an eye out for it. After a while we often concede that we just can’t find that coveted item locally or to buy it locally is ridiculously expensive. So we go online and ‘trawl the net’ in the hope that we can find our heart’s desire somewhere out there. And then, finally, success! Or so we think. We find the item we can’t live without on a crisp, bright, professional looking website only to look a little closer and discover that they don’t deliver to our country.

Well here at Acquisitions - Perfect for Gifts we’re…not much different really. As of writing this we only generally deliver to locations in New Zealand. But read on because if you find something in our online shop that you really can’t live without there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

If you find your ‘Holy Grail’ on our site but you don’t live in New Zealand send an enquiry to websales@acquisitions.co.nz because if we can swing it we will post any of our items to any destination in the world (within reason). We’ll get you a quote for international postage and if you’re happy to pay it we can set up a custom sale on our website just for you. We’ve sent custom sales all over the world including Japan, Barbados, India and even Antarctica - Cool!

So if you really like it, want it or need it then get in touch and we’ll do all we can to unite you with it.

When the Postage Costs more than the Gift

Ever been in the situation where you've selected some fantastic gifts for a friend or relative living overseas only to find that the cost of sending them is more than the gifts are worth? Ever compromised on the size, weight or quality of a gift just to make it less expensive to send? I think anyone that regularly sends to loved ones overseas can relate.

AirSending gifts (or any item) overseas can be an expensive exercise when you take into account the cost of the items and the cost of international postage. Not to mention worrying about whether or not your carefully chosen gifts will arrive safely and on time. Of course these situations are only amplified at Christmas time when you may have many friends and family to send gifts too.

One simple solution to this common problem is to shop online with a store located in the country where the recipients live. That way you can save a bomb on international postage rates (as you’ll only pay local delivery fees) and put your effort into selecting the best gift for your loved one rather than the smallest, lightest gift that will be cheap to post. Also because your selected gifts are only travelling within the country they will be handled less (less chance of mishaps) and the delivery time will generally only be a matter of days and often only over-night.

Here at Acquisitions - Perfect for Gifts we’ve been handling gift orders from international customers since we launched our online shop many moons ago and, quite frankly, the system works brilliantly! If you’re living overseas and want to send to your loved ones in New Zealand you can browse and buy from our massive range of gift items online wherever you are. We’ve just gone responsive recently too so browsing and buying on a smart phone or tablet is now just as easy. You can select gift-wrapping options and write a personal gift message, which we will put on one of our ‘For You’ gift cards for your gift recipient. And multiple gifts for multiple people are no problem as you can use the ‘Message for Order’ function to let us know who gets what and we’ll wrap and label accordingly. In fact we did that very thing for an ex-pat kiwi living in London recently and here’s what she thought of the experience:

Parcel

“Thank you so much! - I ordered the entire families gifts using [your] website from London, using the order instructions to divvy them up. Everyone got their gifts and the lovely staff put tags on the presents - wrapped them beautifully and made the day for my family that I'm missing back home (its my first Christmas away from home) - London is dreary and wet but it was great to see the pics of them unwrapping the gifts you guys put together for me, in the kiwi sunshine!

People here in London/UK cannot believe that a store would wrap and tag presents for me all the way from home. They said I was a little mad for even asking; they just don’t get the same service here. Makes me proud to be a kiwi - and proud of NZ made hospitality.

It’s the little things that make great customer service. Thanks guys :)”

We were super-stoked (that’s kiwi for ‘really, really happy’) that we could make this customer’s first Christmas away from home that little bit easier knowing that her family’s gifts were taken care of.

If you just can’t decide what gift to send (don’t worry it happens) you can always send one of our gift cards and give your friends and family the gift of choice. I promise you that browsing any one of our stores is never an unpleasant experience so letting them choose their own gift really won’t be a hardship for them I’m sure.

In short no matter where in the world you live you can browse for and buy gifts at www.acquisitions.co.nz and have them sent to recipients anywhere in New Zealand and only pay local delivery fees and that’s really choice (kiwi for ‘hey, that’s great’)!

Banksy Wall Art in Stores

Just landed in stores is the 'Banksy' Inspired range of wall art from the highly visual team at Relish Design.

From Wikipedia: "Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter. His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world."

Prices range from a totally budget consious $19.99 to $34.99, which makes it high impact, inexspensive subversive art for your wall. Tops!
